EKU-SAFE is a program funded by the Department of Justice's Office of Violence Against Women, and awarded to the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Work. What makes EKU-SAFE unique is that the grant was written with EKU's student population in mind. While our approach to training and education is research-based, the context in which we consider our programs will be specific to the diversity represented at EKU. Our responsibility is to explore how we share in dialogue with one another, discuss cultural factors that contribute to gender roles and identity, and find pathways that connect to the importance of personal and collective responsibility for each other's safety.

To learn more about our program or the services we offer, please call our office at 859-622-7297.

The EKU-SAFE project was supported by Award No. 2009-WA-AX-0019 and was awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women.
