The EKU-SAFE Center
EKU-SAFE is a program funded by the Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women, to the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Work. EKU-SAFE is a unique program designed to meet the needs of students who are attending Eastern Kentucky University. Our goal is to provide tools and information to students that help them participate in a safer learning environment and campus experience for all students.
We are committed to providing evidence based information on actions that may be taken as a bystander to support services that are available to those who may experience dating violence, stalking, harassment, or sexual assault while at EKU. Unfortunately, we know that the group of highest risk for experiencing an attempted or completed sexual assault is college age women. We are committed to reducing this number through the involvement of men and by ensuring all responders, faculty, and students are aware of information and resources available to them.
