I Am EKU-SAFE
Every day, you have the opportunity to transform your campus. Your actions and words are powerful ways to let people around you know that you are a safe and positive presence at EKU. Another way you can be EKU-SAFE is to speak out and stand up for your peers and shows that you are part of an individual and collective responsibility for each other’s safety. Remember that SAFE starts with each of us. We make decisions every day that can contribute to the safety of our campus. We want you to join us as we transform our campus into one where everyone says I AM EKU-SAFE.
By being EKU-SAFE you can help work to reduce these statistics:
- 1 in 12 college women are stalked
- 1 in 4 college women will be the victim of sexual assault during her academic career
- 1 in 33 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime
- At least 80% of all sexual assaults are committed by an acquaintance
